Ultra Portable Table Top Photo Booth

This is a SPY SHOT of our new Ultra Portable Photo Booth. It’s SECRET, so don’t tell anyone This unit rests on a table, has an optional curtain, uses two standard chairs as its bench and requires only 10 minutes to set up. The booth should fit into most cars. This is not a full stand alone booth but it could be a great second rental booth for small parties or a booth for home or private use. It would fit nicely onto a DJ table at a wedding. The printer can be housed inside or outside the box, depending on the one chosen. The cost is projected to be $1900- $2200 depending on some different hardware options. We are looking for feedback, Is this a product that you would like to see developed? Wedding shows are just around the corner.

A great way to kick start your years marketing campaign is to attend one of the many Bridal Shows in your area. Many brides attend wedding shows in January right after the Holidays. A bridal show can make as many as 2000 bridal contacts for you and many companies book a large percentage of their photo booth rentals at these shows. I know the big Portland Bridal Show has always been good to our photo booth rental company.

Photo Booth Software Update-NEW-

Version 2-BETA of Fortune Photo booth software is out. http://www.fortunephotobooth.com/demo_beta.zip click the link to download.

This version reflects a more customizable screen layout and an always on preview, and many enhancements for stability and ease of use.

Anyone with the current software dongles can use this BETA version in full, Those without a dongle license can use it in DEMO mode.

This version has been tested, but not in an event situation, so be cautious, even though we think it should be fine.

Let me know what bugs you find. A Video tutorial will come after Thanksgiving.

We are expecting a few new “fixes” updates and one more major update before the end of the year.

Custom Photo Booth Strip Tutorial

Many of you have not been taking advantage of our powerful new layout designer. One benefit of using the designer is that you can add custom background color and graphics, you can change the size of the logo and make strips that do not crop the bottom of the images when using a logo. You can also get really creative with the photo positions. Below is a tutorial on how to make a double strip with or without black borders, and a purple or white background. this strip will not crop the images so what you see on the preview screen is what will print.

Instructions:

Go to http://www.fortunephotobooth.com/SCGLayoutDesignerSetup.zip and save extract and install the layout designer.

There is a tutotial at: http://www.fortunephotobooth.com/videos/layoutdesignertutorialsmall.wmv You don’t need the parts about creating the files just yet, just use the ones in the link below to get started, watch the end about how to add the layout to our program.

To use the new layout after running the layout designer simply go into the admin settings of the main fortunephotobooth program:

1. change the num picts to 4 in the main tab of admin settings.

2. check the box that says custom layout in the printing tab of the admin settings

3.The new logo size for this custom layout is 1128 x 280 pixels. make a new logo for this layout

Be looking for a major update to our program in about 1 week! You will be able to have a live preview on the screen at all times, not only after the booths button is pressed, and websites and codes now print without a logo present and on the landscape mode prints. Following soon after that will be our first Canon DSLR Photo Booth Software update.

Here is what we are working on (April)
The Flipbook Event Software is coming along quickly. We have a Beta version we are testing and it needs user interface tweaks before it is ready, but it should be available for sale soon.

Online hosting and users in the booth being able to see and facebook images from their phones is almost done too.

Right now our booths are about 7 feet long after being set up, we are workign on shortening this by a few feet and still maintain the ability to cram up to 10 people in a photobooth strip!

Sony Paper Availability News

As many of you know the Tsunami and Sony’s printer division sale has caused a problem with the supply of 4×6 paper for the Sony UPCX-1. Our kit now ships with the HiTi 510S, which is a great replacement, but for those of you with the Sony you may have trouble buying supplies for a month or two. Read more about it here: http://imagingspectrum.com/blog/2011/04/dnp-sony-photo-printer-transition/ For an emergency plan until DNP can make enough paper to meet the demand I am recommending purchasing an Epson Picturemate printer. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/649328-REG/Epson_C11CA56203_PM225_PictureMate_Charm_Compact.html which can do the job until paper is available. I have faith that DNP will be able to produce the paper soon, but having the Epson will get you a capable emergency back up that can help you out in the future. Call me with questions you might have about this.
